Copper Rooster

This piece is made using one of the most traditional ceramic techniques: ink blue pigment painted on raw clay. The sculpture is then finished with a transparent glaze applied over the entire surface.

I began painting this collection of blue-and-white roosters in late spring 2022. Some are dreaming with their eyes closed, while others are wide awake. Each one has its own unique personality. The Copper Rooster is dreaming of something. Five of my roosters are part of Collection Kakkonen.

Description:
The Rooster is a miniature sculpture that also functions as a bird whistle. This Rooster produces a low tone when blown.
